Dr. Cotler is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Ontario in good standing. Dr. Cotler is also a licensed Clinical Psychologist in New York State. Dr. Cotler currently works in her own private practice, as well as works as a consulting psychologist to Thrive Health, and the Willow Centre. At both the Willow Centre and Thrive Health Dr. Cotler provides psychotherapy for youth and their families.

Dr. Cotler obtained her Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University, Derner Institute of Psychological Studies in New York City. She obtained specialized post-graduate training in parent-infant psychotherapy at Columbia University in their parent-infant program. Dr. Cotler is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Treatment , Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and CRAFT as well as uses mindfulness extensively in her work.

Dr. Cotler has a primary interest in the early attachment bond between parents and their children and how this relationship influences emotional and social development throughout the lifespan. This was the focus of Dr. Cotler’s doctoral work and she has published book chapters on the subject as well as presented at a number of conferences in this area. Finally, Dr Cotler is also involved in coaching and consulting projects relating to clinical practice, addiction, parenting and attachment.
